  • Doesn’t really land

I got all the way through the novel, but wish I would have given up after the first few chapters. Appreciate the author is trying to connect us to the characters but the attempt was pretty weak. One moral dilemma that kept getting rehashed every few chapters. Also the whole plot premise was extremely weak - no depth or barely any reason for all the violence and they never got at the source (eg who is paying the mercenaries to fight). Playing out the whole good guy doing bad things and wrestling with his conscience while being submarined by weak/corrupt politicians - seems very formulaic and in the end boring with nothing to sink your teeth into (plot or characters). Give this book a pass.

Full of breathtaking plot twists and turns, Brad Taylor’s “Hunter Killer,” keeps you on edge through the final paragraph of the thriller! Dan Herod

  • Disappointed

Disappointing. Assassin gathers morally confused hit team as his “A” team, including a silly junior high schooler. Dumb.

Reminded me of some of my favorite authors like Tom Clancy. Good story with great characters and I enjoyed reading this book very much. I highly recommend this book!

Incredible action adventure thriller. Read it nonstop, couldn’t put it down. Really like the characters. My only wish is that he would write these books faster. They are addictive.
  • Confusing, Political, but Good Intrigue

A little confusing at times with multiple destinations and people. Hard to follow. Not as good as other Taskforce stories. Worth a read but don’t expect it to go as easily as previous books.

This is my favorite in the series so far; building on the last book for added dimensions of stress in Logan’s life. The “family”- emphasis is half-“Lilo & Stitch”, half-“Godfather”, but it works in taking the Taskforce to a different place vs the oversight council. As usual, it’s nonstop action and suspense, and... well... I couldn’t put it down, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It can be read as a stand-alone, but... you’d miss knowing how the characters have developed. Highly recommended!
