Although, I usually enjoy this author...I found her last couple of books sadly lacking in depth and carácter development. Just ok....nothing more.

There seems to be some sort of glitch in the download. Almost every chapter has missing pages at the end. Totally frustrating!

Sugar on the Edge by Sawyer Bennett is yet another masterpiece and book three in her Last Call series. A new character is introduced and he is quite the mean guy. Gavin is very dark, very damaged. He's a best-selling British author that has come to Duck, NC to write and get himself away from the booze, drugs and women he was immersed way too deeply in when he was in London. He has a tragedy in his recent past but we are not privy to what that is immediately. His realtor is none other than Casey Markham and she recommends a friend that can come in and help keep his house clean while he's writing. Savannah is desperate and broke and stubborn. She's cleaning houses, working her freelance photography job for the paper and part-time for a sleaze ball portrait photographer. She's reluctant to add more to her plate but realistically needs the money. When she makes the call to arrange meeting her potential new boss she's in full agreement with Casey's assessment that he's an arrogant, rude man. With intense interactions the animosity turns to indifference turns to lost and then need between these two. Their entire relationship from employee/employer to lovers is intense and so well written.I couldn't put this book down and just felt for these two. The way they find the truth of each other and are able to truly bring out the best in each other was powerful. I absolutely cannot wait for more from this author and this series.

The series keeps getting better. This one was hot, funny and sad. It was a great read. I hope there are more to come.
  • A bit predictable

Not that I didn't enjoy this installment as much as the others but from about 60% on the book became a bit too predictable for me. Aside from that I enjoyed the filthy and sweet side of it, and from the way it looks there will be two more! Can't wait!

You can't see me, Sawyer Bennett, but I'm sitting here in front of a fan trying to cool me down! That. Was. WOW! H. O. T. HOT! Gabby and Hunter are still my favorite couple but Savannah and Gavin fogged up my glasses...and I wasn't even wearing them! I wanted to smack the arrogant Brit a few times but he redeemed himself in the end. It was definitely darker and raunchier than the first two in the series but no complaints here. Can't wait to read Casey's story. Since you've ventured toward the "dark side" with this one, will it continue? Or will you pair up Casey, Ms. love-'em-and-'em herself, with a mild-mannered, pocket-protector-wearing, pencil-pusher?
